She was never interested in acting, but her mother convinced her to audition for the role of Radha when she was a junior high school student. At the time, Mallika had been out of school for over two and a half years. Not too long after, Sidharth Kumar from Star Bharat’s Radha Krishn informed her that she had been selected for the part of Radha because he saw an innocence about her that would work well with the show.
